The Storehouse at Guinness is one of the most popular visitor attractions and is famous the world over. Here you’ll discover all there is to know about Ireland’s most famous export. It’s situated on the original Brewery opened in 1876. Arthur Guinness founded the brewery in 1759. It had its own railway and was the largest employer in the city in the 1930s with 5,000 workers. It produces 2.5 million pints of stout every day.
You will be treated to all things Guinness related with a dip into its 250 years and the story behind its famous branding. We’ll help you understand just what goes into making the world’s top stout, from the ingredients, the process the pulling and the drinking. Over seven floors you can discover everything about Guinness before getting to taste it in the top-floor Gravity bar, with its panoramic views.
Or perhaps we will take in the Old Jameson Distillery Located at Bow Street in Dublin. Re-live the story of John Jameson & Son through the history, the atmosphere and above all the taste. Follow the path through malting, milling, mashing, fermenting, distilling and maturing. You will discover the time honoured secret of how three simple ingredients- water, barley and yeast – are transformed into the smooth golden spirit that has always been and continues to be Jameson Irish Whiskey.
From our morning we then transport you in ease to our lunch-stop at the world-famous Johnnie Foxes Pub at the top of the Dublin mountains in the village of Glencullen. Sit back and take in the highest pub in the country and one of Ireland’s oldest and most famous traditional Irish pubs. Established in 1798, this spot is steeped in history and has garnered such love that it is now considered a landmark by the local community.
Taking our leave of this beautiful vista we then travel to The Brazen Head near the historic Christchurch Cathedral, and The Guinness Brewery with its a hive of Traditional Irish music. Meeting here, you will be following in an historic past as a place where rebels met. In the atmosphere of the brass-filled lantern-lit interior, you will get a sense of ancient Dublin.
Once we have paid our visit we move onto The Dawson Lounge on Dawson Street, in the heart of the city. Make way for one of the smallest pubs in the country which will provide you with an intimate atmosphere for a drink. In 2017 the pub made it onto the list of one of the seven best Dublin pubs to watch the Six Nations rugby match, even if it was described as a bit like being in a scrum!
We will transport you through to The Temple Bar On the south bank of the River Liffey. It comes with a long list of accolades, such as Failte Ireland Bar of the Year, Bar Manager of the Year and Irish Pub of the Year on multiple occasions.
