The estate incorporates a terrace restaurant overlooking the garden, speciality shops, a garden pavilion, interiors gallery and an exhibition on the history of the estate. Powerscourt Gardens was ranked No. 3 in the World’s Top Ten Gardens by National Geographic. The spectacular waterfall at Powerscourt is the highest on the Island. World-wide tourists flock to ‘the valley of the two lakes’ for its outstanding history and scenery. Walk through its 6th century Monastic Site with its Round Tower to the scenic lakes and valleys. The Wicklow mountains is known for its picture perfect valleys and lakes and on this tour you’ll have many opportunities to stop and soak up this remarkable landscape.
- Dublin – Powerscourt House: We will collect you from your Dublin location and drive you to the magnificent Powerscourt Estate and Gardens. Stroll through the sumptuous gardens and pay a visit to the mighty Powerscourt Waterfall Ireland’s highest.
- Powerscourt – Glendalough: Dating back to the 6th century Glendalough will inspire you with awe with the soaring Round Tower, Cathedral, St. Kevin’s Church and stunning lakes and valleys.
- Wicklow Heather Restaurant: Enjoy a fabulous lunch at this well known country premises.
- Wicklow Mountains: A drive in comfort, sit back and view the majesty of the Wicklow countryside. We arrive at the bridge from the movie PS I Love You where Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler met and stop for a photo opportunity. The iconic ‘Guinness lake’ is another must see along this picturesque route.
- Dublin: We drive back to Dublin in comfort with an optional stop at ‘Ireland’s highest public house’ the famous ‘Johnnie Fox’s’ Pub where the Guinness is absolutely fabulous !!!!!

Powerscourt Gardens are a sublime blend of formal gardens, sweeping terraces and ornamental lakes. Take in some of the 200 varieties of trees and shrubs. Set against the backdrop of the Sugarloaf Mountain, the extensive grounds are over 47 acres in size. Inspiration for the garden design followed visits to gardens at the Palace of Versailles, Schönbrunn Palace near Vienna, and Schwetzingen Castle near Heidelberg.
Powerscourt Waterfall is the highest waterfall in Ireland. Just 5 klms from the Gardens itself. As we drive from the gate lodge towards the waterfall you are surrounded by Beech, Oak, Larch and Pine trees, some of which were planted over 200 years ago. Look out for the Giant Redwoods, native to Northern California and grow up to 80m high. There is plenty of wildlife to enjoy at the waterfall including birds such as the Chaffinch, Cuckoo, and the Willow Warbler.
Tour deep into the history of Ireland at Glendalough, a mythical glaciated valley with serenity calling you. This “valley of two lakes” – reveals the remarkable remains of this early Christian site deep in the Wicklow Mountains. Feel at one with nature. Indulge your imagination in the story of Saint. Kevin who born into a noble family, renounced his riches for a life among the birds and animals and a life in prayer in this seclusion in a cave above the Upper Lake. Over time he attracted followers and the monastic enclave grew.
We drive along the Wicklow Mountains taking time for a photo opportunity at the picturesque ‘Guinness lake’ and the bridge made famous by Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler in the film P.S. I Love You.
We return to Dublin with an optional stop at Ireland’s highest pub, Johnnie Fox’s.
